Mind, Body & Spirit Massage Policies

Here is an overview of our massage policies & what to expect.

·       Our licensed therapists provide clients with a competent and professional session, addressing the client’s specific needs.

·       Clients are draped with a sheet and/or appropriate covering at all times during the session.

Only the parts of the body receiving therapy are uncovered at any given time.

·       Our therapists provide services for which they are qualified (physically & emotionally) and able to perform.

Therapists may refer clients to appropriate specialists for work that falls outside of their scope of practice

or in the best interest of the client.

·       Clients are treated with dignity & respect.  Personal & professional boundaries are respected at all times.

·       Therapists respect all clients regardless of their age, gender, race, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or political affiliation.

·       In accordance with HIPAA’s Privacy Rule, therapists will take client’s appropriate health information,

will refer to charts & notes prior to a session, will keep accurate records and file all information under lock & key.

·       Therapists will arrive at the prearranged appointment time, will go over intake information, will set up the massage table

in the “center” of the room & then step out while client disrobes & lies down on the table, usually face down to begin.

·       It is the responsibility of the client to keep the massage therapist informed of any current medical conditions.

·       The client will have showered the day of the massage.

·       The client will be “present” – not under the influence of drugs or excessive alcohol.

·       The client is encouraged to drink plenty of room temperature water or even some herbal tea before their session.

It hydrates the muscles.  Client should also drink plenty of water afterwards to flush out the toxins.

·        If any pain or discomfort is experienced during the session, it is the responsibility of the client

to inform the therapist immediately so that the treatment can be adjusted.

·       Client should refrain from wearing perfumes, colognes, or fragranced products to their session.

·       48 hours advanced notice is required when an appointment must be cancelled, except in the case of illness,

emergency or inclement weather.

·       Payment for massage services is added to a client’s room booking.  However, gratuities cannot be.

The industry standard for gratuities is usually around 15 to 25% based on a client’s satisfaction with services rendered.

At this time, therapists can only accept cash or checks for their gratuity.

·       Sexual advances of any kind will not be tolerated and the massage session will be terminated immediately.
